What is Incubator?
This line-up long series curated by Patrick Hill, Metallic Mannequin's Director of Special Programming, will feature and foster the creation of new plays in Kalamazoo. It is called The Incubator Series because it attempts to move beyond simply presenting the work of local artists by challenging them to create through events like writing circles, prompt based submissions, and 12 Hour Playfests. The presentation of this new work will also provide our members a unique opportunity to be on the ground floor of local new play development.
On October 2nd, audiences witnessed classic scenes we all know and loved get pranked.
There was no limit to the kinds of pranks we are willing to pull on our unsuspecting actors, and our audience got to be a part of the fun! We had a suggestion box where pranks could be submitted, drawn at random, and incorporated into the show throughout the night!
Thank you to all of our actors and our faithful patrons for attending this event! Special thanks to Fire Historical and Cultural Arts Collaborative for giving us a home to create our crazy theatre! All proceeds made at this event were donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
